Boss Katana 25 Guitar Amplifier

The BOSS Katana-25 brings the tone and feel of the Katana series to a compact amp sized for home playing. A 25-watt reactive analog power amp drives a custom 8" speaker in an open-back cabinet, and BOSS Tube Logic gives it the warm low end, clear highs and touch response you would expect from a tube amp. Flip the Power Control switch to 0.5 watts and you get the same pushed, cranked-amp sound at a level that works in an apartment or bedroom.

Six amp characters cover everything from glassy cleans and edge-of-breakup crunch to high-gain rock and metal, and one is voiced specifically for acoustic-electric guitars. More than 60 BOSS effects are on board, up to five at a time, with 20 ready-to-play Tone Settings and 10 slots for your own. Gain, volume and three-band EQ knobs, a tap-tempo button for delays and a built-in tuner keep the essentials on the panel, while the free BOSS Tone Studio app opens up deeper editing, the full effects library and thousands of shared sounds on BOSS Tone Exchange.

Built-in Bluetooth lets you stream songs from your phone and play along through the amp, and the app’s Session feature plays YouTube videos with automatic tone changes as the song moves along. A headphone/recording output handles silent practice, and the USB-C port records straight to a computer or mobile device. Add a BOSS footswitch, or the wireless FS-1-WL footswitch or EV-1-WL expression pedal, for hands-free control.
