The BOSS EX-4 Effects Expander puts a deep library of BOSS effects into one compact unit that sits alongside the pedals you already use. Keep your favourite stompboxes exactly where they are and let the EX-4 fill in the gaps — a second drive, another delay, a stereo reverb, or a bass-voiced effect you never had room for.

120 BOSS EFFECTS, FOUR AT A TIME
Choose from 120 effect types covering overdrive and distortion, modulation, delay and reverb, plus effects voiced specifically for bass and BOSS originals like Slow Gear and Slicer. Run up to four effects at once — including more than one of the same type — alongside six utility blocks: foot volume, two noise suppressors, send/return, divider/mixer and global EQ.

GEAR SUITE
Gear Suite gives every effect type a set of professionally tuned, ready-to-play settings. Turn a knob to audition them, then fine-tune the one you like and save it as your own. It’s the fastest way to get from an empty slot to a great sound.

FITS THE WAY YOU PLAY
Two footswitches with colour LEDs work in Manual mode, where the EX-4 behaves like a row of stompboxes, or in Memory mode, where they call up complete presets. Assign them to effect on/off, memory up/down, master bypass or tap tempo, and add two external footswitches or an expression pedal for even more control. There are 128 user and 128 preset memories on board, and switching between them is seamless, with full carryover of delay and reverb possible in certain effect configurations.

CONNECTS TO ANY RIG
Run the EX-4 in mono or stereo. Its second input and output double as a return and send, so you can drop an external pedal anywhere in the EX-4’s effect chain. Low-profile TRS MIDI in and out lets it work with MIDI switchers, other MIDI pedals and external clock sources.
