Rickenbacker 480 Burgundy Glo (Used)
Description
The Rickenbacker 480 is a departure from the company's usual 6 and 12 string hollow-body fare and represent their attempt to get a share of the 70s solidbody market. Mirrioring the shape of the ever-popular Rickenbacker 4001, the 480 creates a striking silhouette for fans of the iconic bass.
This 480 was made in April of 1973, the first year of production on this model and has weathered the years elegantly. Very little in the way of scratches or chips aside from some finish wear on the edges and some tasteful finish checking. The dark-as-wine Burgundy Glo finish can almost be mistaken for black at first glance but is nonetheless a gorgeous color by any standard.
This guitar is all original with a nice, low action set up with .9 guage strings. There is some noticable fret wear but nothing that affects the playing experience very much. Recently professionally serviced to rewire the tone pot and clean the output jack.
