The SYN-20IR utilizes Synergy's patented all-tube modular system, allowing you to quickly and easily swap preamp modules to endlessly expand your tonal palette. The SYN-20IR is the world's most flexible, convenient, and tonally versatile all-tube amplifier head. The amp's built-in vintage American-style clean channel coupled two additional channels from your favorite Synergy preamp module,  makes the SYN-20IR a three-channel tonal beast ideal for every player, every style, and every situation.

Each all-tube, two-channel module is equipped with dual 12AX7s and features the exact preamp circuitry as the legendary amplifier it is based on. In most cases the SYNERGY module offers more features in comparison to the amp itself. The Synergy engineering team painstakingly works with each brand partner to design modules that achieve the most accurate tonal representation of their famous amplifier model.

Brought to life by a 20-watt EL84 power section, the SYN-20IR is ideal for at home, in the studio, onstage, or at rehearsal. The SYN-20IR is packed with features to satisfy today's demanding players including onboard impulse response (IR) technology with latency less than 1ms, selectable Power Amp Structure, silent playing, XLR DI and Headphone outputs and fully MIDI capability.

The SYN-20IR boasts a powerful digital engine dedicated to its four onboard impulse responses (IR) and power amp simulation in the most accurate and natural-sounding way. Utilizing an oversized 500 MHz ARM DSP processor, it delivers these professionally captured IRs with under 1ms of latency, far surpassing competing products. Add and manage your own IR library, as well as the 13 included IRs, using the free Synergy Editor software.

Right from the amp's front panel, you can assign one of four impulse responses (IRs) and one of three POWER STUCTURES to each of the three channels. Easily manage and save it all to the included 3-button MIDI footswitch.
NEXT-LEVEL POWER AMP CONTROL

The SYN-20IR offers unique controls for STRUCTURE & REACTANCE that tailor the response of the amp's all-analog power section. The revolutionary STRUCTURE feature optimizes the head for any channel by offering three distinct power amp configurations and feedback which are assignable to each of the amp's channels. The STRUCTURE feature significantly alters the overall contour and feel of the SYN-20IR.

There are three Structure modes to choose from:
MODE A: Balanced negative feedback for a clear yet punchy sound.
MODE B: Vintage style phase inverter with relaxed mids and a bright, shimmering high end.
MODE C: Modern HiFi style phase inverter and low negative feedback delivers a modern, tight feel with solid lows and a darker high end.

SYNERGY EDITOR SOFTWARE
The included Synergy Editor Software unlocks the SYN-20IR's full potential. Connecting via a standard USB jack, you can easily assign different IRs and Structure settings for your amp and module channels, load and organize your IR library, save up to 128 MIDI presets, and tailor your power-amp simulation via the assignable Low-Pass and Low Pass filtering. It's all available within the software's streamlined and easy-to-use interface.

3-BUTTON  MIDI FOOTSWOTCH  - MIDI CONTROL
The SYN-20IR includes an easy-to-use 3-button MIDI footswitch that lets you save and access any combination of channels, amp structures and onboard IRs. With the tap of your toe, you can,  for example, switch from your module's high-gain crunch with a 4x12 IR and Structure Mode C to the amp's onboard clean channel  through a vintage 1x12 IR and the open-sounding Structure Mode A. You can also connect external MIDI switchers and controllers, giving you access to up to 128 user-created presets. The included Synergy Editor Software makes it easy to assign and organize your presets for maximum flexibility.

UNIVERSAL VOLTAGE
The SYN-20IR works seamlessly anywhere in the world with the help of a voltage selector switch found on the back panel. When traveling or moving to a different country and want to take the SYN-20IR with you, there is no need to re-bias the amp or use a step-up/step-down transformer just select the right voltage, replace the Mains fuse with the correct rating and you're ready to go!

Imperial experience has been brought to the groundbreaking modular preamp format.
The Imperial module mirrors the two-channel design of the flagship Imperial MKII amplifier,
offering independent Rhythm and Lead channels, complete with intuitive controls and the
unmistakable feel of a handwired American classic. With a powerful, dynamic voice and inspiring
responsiveness, the Tone King Imperial module puts decades of vintage tone at your fingertips -
now with all the flexibility of the Synergy platform.

VINTAGE AMERICAN TONES REIMAGINED
The Rhythm channel of the Imperial module captures the shimmering highs and round low end of a
great Blackface-era amp, perfect for crisp chords, blues-inspired leads, and lush clean textures. The
Lead channel is voiced after a mid-�50s Tweed amp pushed into glorious overdrive, offering a thick,
harmonically rich, and touch-sensitive breakup that can rival even classic 100W heads. Each
channel features independent tone shaping, Volume, and Attenuation controls, giving you the
ability to precisely fine-tune both your clean and driven tones.

BIAS TREMOLO - THE HEART OF VINTAGE AMPS
One of the hallmarks of the original Imperial MKII amplifier is faithfully captured here: a vintage-
style true analog bias tremolo. This bias-modulated tremolo delivers pulsing, organic movement
that breathes life into your playing. The effect can be assigned to either or both channels and is
carefully tuned for musical consistency across all settings.

DUAL-CHANNEL TUBE PREAMP
The Synergy Imperial module offers two independent channels that recreate the classic Tone King
amp experience with stunning authenticity.
� The Rhythm channel features a classic layout of Volume, Bass, and Treble controls, with a
dedicated Attenuation control (Master Volume).
� The Lead channel offers Volume, Tone, Mid-Bite, and Attenuation controls, allowing you to
sculpt your drive tone with precision.

POWER AMP TONE AND FEEL - ZERO-WATT POWER AMP
At the heart of the Imperial Preamp module lies Synergy�s innovative �Zero Watt Poweramp�
technology. This feature incorporates the exact phase inverter circuitry from the Imperial MKII
amplifier. By utilizing one of the 12AX7 tubes, the Imperial MKII module replicates the harmonic
and dynamic characteristics of the original amp�s power section, and ensures that the Imperial MKII
module responds with the same blooming harmonics and dynamic nuance as its full-sized
counterpart. Whether you�re playing through a recording interface, a live PA system, or integrating
it into your existing amplifier setup, the �Zero Watt Poweramp� is the missing ingredient to
providing an authentic vintage like tube amp experience with a preamp system.

MID-BITE CONTROL - SCULPTING YOUR OVERDRIVE CHARACTER
A standout feature of the Imperial module's Lead channel is the proprietary Mid-Bite control. More
than just a midrange EQ, the Mid-Bite adjusts the amp�s overdrive structure. As you increase the
Mid-Bite, it tightens the low end, boosts upper-mid presence, and introduces additional gain. This
shifts the tone from warm, articulate cleans to a more aggressive, British-flavored rock crunch. The
Mid-Bite gives players seamless access to a wide range of tonal textures, from vintage Tweed grit to
modern, punchy overdrive - all within a single channel.

ATTENUATION & HF COMP
The Attenuation controls mimic the Iron Man II attenuation found in the original Imperial MKII
amplifier and function as adjustable master volume controls per channel. The HF Comp switch
is the treble cut control found on the original amplifier to soften high end frequencies.

CATHODE SELECT FUNCTION
Like all Synergy modules, the Imperial includes a three-position Cathode Select switch on its PCB,
allowing you to tailor the input tube�s bass response and feel. The module comes preset to Tone
King�s preferred setting, optimized to capture the warm, expressive character of the Imperial MKII,
while still offering flexibility for players who want to explore alternative voicings.
