Description
The LR Baggs M1 Active redefines magnetic soundhole performance through its patented Tri-Axial Dynamic Technology. Unlike standard stacked humbuckers where the lower coil only cancels hum, the M1 features a lower coil suspended by a carefully tuned support to capture high-frequency body resonances. As you play, the primary coil tracks string movement while the secondary coil responds to the guitar soundboard's actual 3D vibrations. This creates a blended string-and-body acoustic signal that mirrors a dual-pickup system while preventing runaway feedback on stage.
The active design incorporates audiophile-grade circuitry to boost output directly to an acoustic amplifier or PA system. For effortless configuration, it includes an integrated, top-mounted master volume wheel and individually adjustable pole pieces with smooth, threadless tops to protect your fingernails. The pickup is temporarily clamped into the soundhole via dual side screws, using a quick-disconnect 1/8" internal gold-plated jack for painless removal when tracking in a studio environment.
