"Duet+" is original Yamaha technology that produces an ABS resin bore lining. Duet+ originates from oboe design technology. The instrument's bore is protected by a resin layer. The resin layer minimizes changes to the internal wood. Precision is enhanced for more stable tone and pitch. The likelihood of internal distortion and cracking due to humidity changes is reduced. The instrument provides stable long-term sound and playability.
The balance of the instrument was reviewed and the leather pad was adopted. Optimized bell bore shape for homogeneous sound quality in all registers.
Barrel's outer diameter: A shape that promotes efficient breath flow through the instrument. The barrel gets slightly smaller toward the mouthpiece for easy blowing and flexible response to expressive nuances. Slightly larger at the lower end.
The surface of the pad that closes the tone hole is made of genuine leather, which is used in higher-end models, for a powerful yet soft sound. It also reduces noise from the pad while playing and is highly durable.
